All commissions done by Subtle Touch Creations (the artist) are 100% AI-free. Illustrations are made using reference images bought on stock sites such as Depositphotos and Adobe Stock. Upon starting a commission, the commissioner receives a rough sketch that they can either accept or ask to be revised. Unlimited revisions are offered at this stage (this refers to the overall design, such as composition, character poses, scene, background, etc.). Once the design is agreed upon, minor revisions are offered. The commissioner is involved from start to finish, as they will be able to follow the progress of the commission through regular updates. They can also give feedback and request minor changes throughout (for example, hairstyles, colours, various details, etc.). Once the commission is finalised and the second payment is made (see below), the client will receive the image in full resolution (300 DPI) via email.
Custom photo-manipulated designs come with unlimited revisions. The commissioner is sent mockups until they are happy with the design, after which the finished piece is created. Otherwise, the process remains the same as for illustrations.
All payments are done via PayPal. The cost is dependent on the commission and may, therefore, vary. 50% is paid upfront to confirm the client’s slot. This is non-refundable. The remaining 50% is paid upon delivery. In the event a commissioner requests additions to a commission that warrants a higher price (for example, if an additional format is added to a commissioned illustrated book cover), the extra cost will be added to the second payment.
All art is sold with a commercial license at no extra cost. This license allows the commissioner to print and distribute the artwork freely, as well as use it as part of a book's interior and/or exterior art and in promotional material, swag, ads, etc. However, altering the images or crediting someone else for the artwork is strictly prohibited (cropping the image is allowed). The artist retains copyright. Art will only be displayed on the artist’s website (portfolio) and/or social media with the commissioner’s permission.
In the event of the commissioner terminating the commission, the 50% downpayment will be retained by the artist.
